Glass for Mirrors
Metro Glass mirrors are made from of the highest quality glass, treated with a silver backing and then paint coated for durability and resistance to chemicals, they are corrosion resistant (copper free).
They can be made specifically for your requirements, for locations such as bathroom, wardrobes and living room mirrors. Using hi-tech specialised machinery, we can create a huge variety of mirror design shapes, with a choice of polished edges, decorative bevels or straight-edging.
For safety, Metro vinyl backing is a requirement on all mirrors in high-risk human impact areas, eg gymnasiums and dance studios. If the mirror is broken the adhesive vinyl will ensure fragments stay together to reduce the risk of injury. Complying with NZS 4223 and AS/NZS 2208 as a Grade A safety glass, they can be supplied cut to size, drilled and edgeworked.

Wardrobes - For sliding wardrobe doors the maximum size recommended for 4mm is 2m² to comply with NZS 4223 Part 3.
Security mirrors - For surveillance, security and when discreet observation is required. Metro's reflective MirrorpaneT.M. is commonly used for one way vision applications and is ideal where surveillance, security and discreet observation is required. MirrorpaneT.M. transparent mirror is intended for interior applications and must be installed with the reflective surface facing the brightly lit side of the room.
